A tree guard can be effective to protect trees from deer damage.  Tree guards need to be 1.5m tall.  However, tree guards are by no means the complete answer.  Deer, particularly fallow, will knock down a tree guard fairly easily.  Also, a further option needs to be found once the tree outgrows its tree guard.

if you are considering largescale use of tree guards to restrict deer damage, they will be much more effective in conjunction with a deer cull.  

Tree guards can work, but the cost of each tree guard is increasing, and in large woodland plantations the cost of tree guards is not truly viable.

So, before installing tree guards, call us.  We are free, so cheaper than even a single deer guard, and we can rapidly reduce the deer damage caused without the need for tree guartds at all.
